How you’ll contribute The Data Abstractor performs data collection, verification and transmission on patient abstracts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP)
• Years of relevant experience may be substituted for required education.

Nice To Haves

• Graduated from LPN program
• Associate's degree
• LPN in State of Michigan
• 2 years related experience

Responsibilities

• Retrieves charts from Health Information Management Department using the established records department procedures.
• Coordinates all aspects of the patient survey to include distribution, data entry, report generation and submission.
• Accurately transmits data and generates reports/graphs in accordance with the procedures in a timely manner.
• Maintains strict confidentiality of patient, employee and department data.
