About The Position

The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) is seeking a Dashboard Accessibility Analyst to ensure all public-facing dashboards and visualizations meet WCAG 2.1 AA and ADA accessibility standards. This role is critical in making data visualizations accessible to all users by embedding alt text, managing accessibility processes, and monitoring compliance. THIS POSITION IS UNCLASSIFIED PER 124.11 (A) (29), OHIO REVISED CODE. The Ohio Department of Medicaid does not provide employment-based visa sponsorship. Compensation is as listed on the posting unless required by legislation or union contract. Travel required, as needed. Must provide own transportation. Requirements

  • 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in research & analysis & written documentation of findings.
  • Or completion of undergraduate core program in business or public administration or related field of study.
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA standards, ADA compliance, and accessibility principles.
  • Familiarity with data visualization software (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, Qlik).

Responsibilities

  • Accessibility Compliance: Ensure dashboards and visualizations meet WCAG 2.1 AA and ADA standards.
  • Alt Text Development: Write and embed clear, meaningful alt text for all dashboard visualizations.
  • Accessibility Reviews: Review dashboards for compliance and usability; identify and recommend improvements.
  • Documentation: Develop guidelines, checklists, and best practices for creating accessible dashboards.
  • Collaboration: Work with Data Analysts, Developers, Designers, and Content Creators to integrate accessibility features.
  • Operational Support: Provide guidance to staff on accessibility standards and practices
