About The Position

TEKsystems is searching for 2 candidates for our client in the Knoxville, TN market! This client specializes in 4 major telecommunications categories- LMR (Land Mobile Radio, IBS (in building systems, IDAS), ITS (Intelligent transportation systems), and Physical Security This company has a number of In building projects that they will work on over the next few years, this includes the construction and maintenance of in building wireless access points. They are currently supporting projects in the Federal, State and Local government, and education, transportation, venues/stadiums, and healthcare field. This scope specifically is for the TN market where they are supporting DAS/low voltage installation, public safety, fiber, coax, ODAS/IDAS, new builds, existing campuses, etc. They support the entire UT campus which is where most of the work is, but also cover the entire state of TN and will travel to help support Richmond, VA. Resources must be open to 50% travel (worse case scenario) with overnight stays in Richmond 4 nights at a time, coming back on the weekend. Will drive company vehicle to Richmond, hotels are paid for, $65.00 per day per diem when traveling and staying over night. We are looking for 1 DAS Install Technician that has had 3+ years of experience specific within the wireless space DAS, voice, data. They will be working on teams of 2 with themselves as the lead and 1 Helper (need to fill the helper as well). This person must have low volt coax install, rack and stacking, dressing and labeling experience, low voltage, etc.. They should also have some fiber experience testing, terminating, pulling, splicing is a plus, but not necessary. Should have light experience leading jobs via blueprints, delegation, job pictures, reporting back to cm. The majority of DAS systems they install are coax and fiber based. This includes working with 1/2" coax, OEM's like: Callus, OTDR, Corning, Commscope, SOLiD, ADRF, Mobile Access...etc There will be a 40 hour work week, with the opportunity for overtime . This position is specifically to support the TN market and is a long term FTE opportunity, running a 6-month CTH with a strong track record of conversion.
