About The Position
The Dance Teacher position at Doris Dickson Elementary School and Lyle S. Briggs Fundamental for the 2024/2025 school year involves teaching a comprehensive curriculum that includes reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, art, health, physical education, and music to elementary pupils. The teacher will utilize the San Bernardino County Course of Study for Elementary Schools and other appropriate learning activities and materials to create an engaging learning environment. The teacher will evaluate students' academic and social growth, maintain appropriate records, prepare progress reports, and communicate with parents regarding their child's progress. Collaboration with other professional staff members is essential to identify pupil needs and assist in addressing health, attitude, and learning challenges. The position also includes responsibilities such as creating an effective learning environment through displays and interest centers, participating in professional development activities, and contributing to curriculum development programs. The Dance Teacher will supervise pupils during out-of-classroom activities, administer standardized tests, and may coordinate the work of aides and paraprofessionals. The role requires attendance at faculty meetings, P.T.A. meetings, and participation in various school activities, ensuring a well-rounded educational experience for students.
