About The Position

Wiz Kids Foundation is seeking an enthusiastic Summer Camp Modern Dance Instructor who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, leading children through a variety of outdoor and indoor summertime activities. The Modern Dance Instructor is responsible for teaching fundamental skills as well as more advanced strategy. Guides campers through the day‐to-day activities of the overall camp experience. Teaches sound technique classes based on current best practices for the physical and developmental health of the student Develop critical artistic sensibilities Instill skills and lessons that go beyond the studio Choreographs the end of session camper showcase Teaches campers basic dance steps and more advanced steps where applicable. Instill an appreciation for dance. Gives or assigns individual help as needed, using dance junior associates working off to the side. Ensure the welfare of campers and positive resolution of camper related issues by communication clearly and consistently with camp leadership staff. Willingness to comply with Suspected Child Abuse Reporting (Subsection (a)(6) of 325 ILCS 5-4). Additional duties as contracted.

Requirements

  • Prior Modern Dance related instruction experience at the elementary or high school level

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Performing or Fine Arts
