About The Position

Dance Instructor – TCF YMCA Youth Program Center POSITION SUMMARY The Arlington-Mansfield Area YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Dance Instructor to lead youth dance classes at the TCF YMCA Youth Program Center. This position focuses on teaching engaging, high-quality dance instruction that builds confidence, creativity, and foundational dance skills in a fun and supportive environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about working with youth, enjoys creating positive class experiences, and is experienced in teaching multiple dance styles within a recreational youth setting. We are specifically seeking instructors with availability on: Tuesday or Wednesday evenings Friday evening Saturday afternoons OUR CULTURE Our mission and core values are brought to life by our culture. Requirements

  • Minimum age of 18 years old.
  • Ability to teach tap, ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance required.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and passion for youth development.
  • Availability during evenings and weekends, specifically Tuesday/Wednesday evenings, Friday evenings, and Saturday afternoons.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience teaching dance in a studio, school, or recreational setting preferred.
  • Experience working with children ages 3–14 preferred.
  • dance training or performing arts education preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach weekly youth dance classes in a safe, positive, and structured environment.
  • Provide instruction in tap, ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance styles.
  • Develop age-appropriate lesson plans focused on technique, creativity, and confidence-building.
  • Introduce choreography and routines for seasonal showcases or performances.
  • Encourage participation, teamwork, and personal growth among students.
  • Maintain organized and welcoming studio spaces.
  • Communicate professionally with parents, participants, and YMCA staff.
  • Ensure participant safety and follow YMCA policies and procedures.
  • Arrive prepared and on time for scheduled classes.
  • Support YMCA events, performances, or program demonstrations as needed.
  • Uphold YMCA core values in all interactions with participants and families.
