About The Position

The Dance Instructor at Mayne Attraction Studios is responsible for teaching dance technique and choreography to students aged 3 and up, primarily serving African American families in the Greater Cleveland area. The role requires preparing engaging lesson plans and fostering a fun learning environment while helping students develop life skills and a strong work ethic. The instructor must be available for evening and weekend classes during the spring semester and for summer camp sessions.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a dance teacher/choreographer.
• Proven experience in teaching dance technique and choreography for beginner and intermediate levels.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Well-organized and committed to the role.

Nice To Haves

• Pursuing or have earned a dance-related college degree.
• Experience teaching multiple dance genres such as Ballet, Jazz, Acro, and/or Hip Hop.

Responsibilities

• Teaching dance technique and choreography to students in weekly dance classes.
• Preparing and submitting weekly lesson plans for classes taught.
• Meeting work and communication deadlines set by the Director.
• Demonstrating professional interactions with students, including effective class management and giving constructive criticism.
• Communicating with parents/guardians about student progress and performance details.
• Offering stage hand/teaching services for showcases and community performances.
