Dance General Manager

Barron SportsBallwin, MO
$50,000 - $60,000

About The Position

The Dance General Manager is the heart of our daily operations. You aren't just behind a desk; you're on the floor leading by example. This role is for someone who loves the energy of a busy studio and can seamlessly transition from teaching a high-energy class to mentoring a fellow teacher or helping a parent find the perfect class for their child. You'll ensure every student receives top-tier instruction while keeping the "backstage" side of the studio running smoothly and professionally.

Requirements

  • Lift up to 50 lbs with ease to support studio and recital needs
  • Rely on sharp vision and hearing to keep every child safe during active movement
  • Navigate uneven and soft surfaces with steady steps
  • Move dynamically—stretching, bending, squatting, and dance movements—with a full and strong range of motion

Responsibilities

  • Dual-Role Leadership : Balance approximately 20+ hours of active dance instruction with 12 hours of administrative and leadership duties.
  • Safety & Excellence: Ensure the safety and well-being of all dancers and families, maintaining a pristine and secure studio environment.
  • Strategic Planning : Lead and participate in weekly leadership meetings to coordinate studio goals, recital planning, and seasonal transitions.
  • Curriculum Oversight : Oversee the delivery of high-quality dance instruction across all styles (ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop), ensuring lesson plans are followed and curriculum goals are met.
  • Staff Mentorship: Act as the lead "choreographer" for our team—training, mentoring, and providing performance feedback to Dance Teachers to sharpen their skills.
  • Build Family Connections: Be an enthusiastic, welcoming presence; engage with parents, answer program questions, and build lasting relationships with our community.
  • Tech Savvy: Utilize Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and our class management systems to keep the studio organized and on track.
  • Operation Integrity : Serve as a role model by upholding Barron values, ensuring consistent attendance, and navigating the fast-paced studio flow with professionalism.
  • Mission Driven : Actively promote the Barron Mission of " Building Skills for Life" in every spin, leap, and administrative task.
