The Dana CNC/Cell Operator is responsible for producing machined parts by operating CNC machines, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. The role involves monitoring machine performance, performing adjustments, and maintaining accurate records of production and quality inspections.

  • Produce machined parts by operating CNC machines.
  • Read and understand Picture Process Map (PPM) work instructions and quality inspection sheets.
  • Document all actions by completing production and quality paperwork.
  • Identify and report casting, trimming, and machining defects.
  • Maintain machine output at optimum levels to meet deadlines.
  • Report discrepancies and CNC problems to the designated lead person, supervisor, and quality department.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as required.
  • Apply quality measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Work with tool holders, cutting tools, and other accessories used on Dana Cell machines.
  • Maintain communication among work shifts regarding irregularities and needs.
  • High school diploma or GED; preferred Associate degree in CNC machine programming or equivalent work experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience with CNCs (horizontal/vertical & lathes).
  • Ability to perform offsets adjustments.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to perform measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
