About The Position

This position involves accurately locating and marking company facilities, including transmission and distribution systems, service lines, and other facilities. The role requires reading and interpreting system maps, working with company crews and outside contractors for re-marking to prevent damage, and conducting investigations of natural gas facility damages to determine root causes. The individual will maintain working relationships with area excavators, municipalities, and company personnel responsible for excavation activities, reporting any suspected damages to the system. Ensuring the accuracy of company maps and records related to damage prevention is crucial, as is completing and maintaining accurate records and reports to comply with company and regulatory requirements. The position may also involve assisting other operations functions and performing construction and maintenance work when not engaged in damage prevention duties. The role may require holding stand-by duty, working shifts, holidays, weekends, emergency call outs, and occasionally extensive hours. The individual will identify, address, and report safety and encroachment issues, ensuring their resolution and completion. Safe operation and inspection of assigned company vehicles and equipment is also a responsibility. The individual must demonstrate support for and adhere to company values, strategies, policies, and procedures, exhibiting core values of AtmoSpirit, customer service, safety, and the code of conduct. Familiarity with the safety manual and active participation in maintaining a safe working environment is required, along with completion of all necessary safety training.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of experience in natural gas, damage prevention activities, service, construction and maintenance, or pipeline operations.
  • Thorough understanding of company operations.
  • Must obtain and maintain minimum Operator Qualifications (OQs) and classroom training.
  • Valid driver's license in accordance with company standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to utilize company internet/intranet and perform data entry tasks.
