The Dairy Supplier Quality Assurance and Dairy Farm Liaison is a pivotal role in safeguarding the quality and safety of raw milk and other dairy ingredients throughout the supply chain. This position is responsible for conducting comprehensive dairy farm audits and inspections, ensuring raw milk haulers comply with the Pasteurized Milk Ordinance (PMO), Kosher, Halal, and other applicable requirements. This role also facilitates effective communication between dairy farms and manufacturing facilities while collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to uphold regulatory standards and company policies. In addition, this position works closely with regulatory authorities, including the FDA, USDA, and local PMO inspectors, to ensure compliance and maintain the highest standards of food safety and quality.

  • Collaborate with the procurement team to coordinate onboarding activities for new dairy and dairy product supplier.
  • Conduct audits and assessments to ensure suppliers comply with Flora Food Groups, SQF and regulatory standards.
  • Implement and oversee the supplier quality control processes, including inspecting and testing materials and products from suppliers upon arrival.
  • Track supplier performance, maintain records on defect rates, and provide reports on supplier quality, Contribute to the monthly supplier deck.
  • Raise supplier nonconformance to address non-conformances by working with suppliers to implement corrective actions to prevent future issues.
  • Provide technical guidance and collaborate with suppliers to improve their manufacturing processes and reduce defects.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal departments (like engineering and production) and external suppliers to communicate quality issues and solutions.
  • Visit dairy farms to assess cleanliness, animal health, and sanitary practices.
  • Ensure farm operations comply with the Pasteurized Milk Ordinance federal, state, and company regulations.
  • Review farm records, including batch manufacturing records, for accuracy and compliance with the PMO requirements.
  • Monitor milk storage, transport and handling processes for Pasturized Milk Ordinance Compliance.
  • Oversee microbiological and component testing of incoming raw milk, analyze the data and create trends to provide feedback to the farms in an effort to improve the raw milk quality
  • Investigate quality and regulatory deviations associated with incoming raw milk Milk and implement corrective actions at the farm level.
  • Collaborate with farm personnel and regulatory agencies to maintain ensure compliance for the raw milk utilized by the Flora food manufacturing US Hugoton facility.
  • Oversee the PMO Appendix N program, including testing, documentation, and rejection of hot loads.
  • Work with the PMO inspectors on all appendix N noncompliance issues and any follow up actions that may be required for any appendix N positive
  • Act as a liaison between farmers, suppliers, and internal teams (procurement, engineering, production).
  • Facilitate communication and problem-solving across departments to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Act as the liaison between the company and the federal milk market agency.
  • Provide data and complete reports required by regulatory agencies in regards to the amount of milk processed by the Facility
  • Identify trends and recommend improvements in safety, productivity, and cost reduction.
  • Lead implementation of new policies and procedures, including training and change management.
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of implemented changes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, Dairy Science, Environmental Health, or related field and or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience in quality assurance, in dairy or food manufacturing. ( animal manufacturing)
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, etc.).
  • Experience with supplier audits, farm inspections, and quality systems.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel to supplier and farm locations as needed.
