Main responsibilities: Assist the Grocery Manager in directing the operation of the Dairy Department, including supervising and training personnel. Maintain the quality condition of dairy products, including stocking, rotating, facing, and discarding out‑of‑code or spoiled products. Assist with ordering, receiving, storing, stocking, inventory control, and building displays. Maintain backroom standards, shelf conditions, and overall department cleanliness. Promote and maintain strong customer awareness with safe, friendly, and courteous service; engage in suggestive selling. Assist in planning and organizing regular, seasonal, and special sales merchandise needs. Train and coach dairy stocking and conditioning standards; assist with “dry grocery” order writing. Assist with grocery stocking, conditioning, merchandising, displays, reclamation process, and work on new items. We are looking for candidates who possess the following: Soft skills : Friendly, courteous, and helpful customer service approach. Professional interaction with customers, coworkers, and supervisors. Strong multitasking skills, especially in stressful or time‑sensitive situations. Ability to make sound decisions and work independently when needed. Clear communication skills, including reading, writing, and following instructions. Competencies : Strong customer service skills and understanding of service procedures. Ability to supervise, train, and coach department personnel. Knowledge of product pricing, store layout, PLU codes, and inventory processes. Ability to operate registers, self‑checkouts, and handle all forms of tender. Organizational skills for managing backroom inventory, displays, and department standards. Knowledge : Dairy product handling, stock rotation, spoilage control, and merchandising. Store systems, handheld ordering devices, and basic math for pricing and making change. Abilities : Lift/carry 5–60 lbs and push/pull cases of 10–50 lbs. Stand, walk, and reach continuously throughout shift. Perform squatting, kneeling, bending, stooping, twisting, and turning as needed. Operate bailer and electrical equipment (must be 18 years old). Complete assigned tasks within expected time frames.
