The Dairy Plant Maintenance Lube and Oil Technician shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following: The lubrication technician will be assigned a scheduled lubrication route to service all of the plant's lubrication demands to support production, quality, and safety. The lube tech will be responsible for all of the greasing and oiling of all milk, ice cream, and cooler production demands. As the lube tech gains additional experience, he or she may be able to assist with the refrigeration lubrication.

  • Change oils and filters in various machines
  • Inspect seals and gaskets
  • Inspect oil and lubrication lines
  • Maintain oil levels
  • Grease and oil production equipment
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance as required
  • Follow both written and verbal instructions
  • Fill out written reports
  • Keep work area safe and clean
  • Work with various types of equipment and systems in the plant
  • Must be able to work 3rd shift hours (some 2nd shift hours will be required)
  • Must be able to work in very hot (more than 100° F) and very cold (20° F below zero) environments
  • Must be able to work in a very wet and humid environment for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to bend, crawl, climb, squat, and work on times both above the head and at ground level during repair and maintenance operations
  • Must be able to understand boilers, refrigeration, hydraulic, air, electrical, and other systems in the plant
  • Must be able to follow blueprints, wiring diagrams, and service manuals
