About The Position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and friendly service. Assist customers by making product suggestions. Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via: Telephone In-store intercom announcements One-on-one customer interaction Answer and respond to incoming calls appropriately; resolve customer complaints and escalate to Store Director as needed. Rotate and discard outdated or spoiled products; ensure cleanliness of work area and department. Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays. Ensure merchandise is correctly priced and displayed; maintain clean and properly organized shelves. Assist in other areas of the Grocery Department as needed. Follow and maintain department standards and requirements. Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook. Enforce proper code dating for all products within the department. Assist with physical inventory every 6 months. Control inventory to ensure adequate quantity, quality, and freshness; maintain levels per division directives. Stock and rotate products; supervise reclamation processing; maintain orderly and in-stock conditions in back room and all Dairy Department areas. Control shrink and costs. Implement correct product preparation techniques. Operate related equipment such as pallet jack, hand truck, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and Sterilox machine. Perform receiving duties including: Breaking down loads Verifying orders using invoices Inspecting quality and reporting shortages Stocking and rotating product Adhere to product temperature and storage guidelines; follow proper packaging techniques. Process administrative paperwork and maintain accurate department records. Accurately complete and monitor daily log sheets, sales, labor, and other required paperwork. Ensure proper temperature levels for products; comply with retail labeling laws, federal and state regulations, company policies, and code dating requirements. Comply with all workplace safety rules and regulations. Maintain safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of work area, cooler, equipment, and display areas; ensure code date compliance. Implement emergency procedures in the event of equipment or software malfunctions. Operate computer software and electronic ordering devices to order products. Comply with and ensure compliance with company grooming standards and dress code.
