Pay Transparency: Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay, PTO/Vacation pay, paid holidays, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. Applications are accepted on an on-going basis. For roles in Washington State: Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains an enthusiastic customer-focused atmosphere with fast and friendly service.
  • Assists customers by making product suggestions and engaging in suggestive selling.
  • Utilizes telephone, in-store intercom announcements, and one-on-one interaction to drive sales.
  • Answers incoming calls promptly and resolves customer concerns, escalating to the Store Director when needed.
  • Rotates and removes outdated or spoiled product; ensures department cleanliness.
  • Implements seasonal and promotional displays.
  • Ensures merchandise is correctly priced, faced, stocked, and displayed according to standards.
  • Maintains clean shelves and organized product areas.
  • Ensures proper code dating practices are enforced across the department.
  • Assists with physical inventory (conducted every six months).
  • Maintains adequate inventory levels per division guidelines, monitoring quantity, quality, and freshness.
  • Stocks, rotates, and organizes product efficiently.
  • Supervises reclamation processes and maintains orderly conditions in all Dairy/Backroom areas.
  • Controls shrink, cost, and waste through proper handling and product management.
  • Performs receiving duties: breaking down loads, verifying invoices, inspecting product quality, reporting shortages, and rotating stock.
  • Follows correct temperature, storage, and packaging procedures.
  • Uses equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and Sterilox machines safely and effectively.
  • Completes and maintains daily log sheets, sales/labor reports, paperwork, and all required documentation accurately.
  • Ensures proper product temperatures, labeling, and compliance with federal/state regulations and company code‑dating policies.
  • Follows all workplace safety rules, sanitation procedures, and equipment cleaning standards.
  • Ensures safety and cleanliness of work areas, coolers, displays, and all department spaces.
  • Implements emergency procedures when equipment or software issues occur.
  • Operates computer systems and electronic ordering tools to order product.
  • Follows department standards, guidelines, and company policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • May assist in other areas of the Grocery Department as needed.
  • Complies with company grooming standards and dress code.
