The Dairy-Frozen Food Specialist is responsible for managing the daily operations in the dairy and frozen food departments. This role aims to increase customer confidence and loyalty by promoting and executing consistent and compliant operating conditions. The specialist provides fresh and appealing products, courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt service, and executes merchandising plans while supervising, training, and developing team members. This is a working management position that requires a balance of physical labor, delegation, team building, leadership, planning, and administrative work.

Requirements

  • High School / GED required.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic math.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Ability to operate pallet jack, baler, and trash compactor.
  • Proficient with computer applications used in effectively operating the department.
  • Possession of Food Safety Certification or the ability to obtain it within 180 days of placement.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in creating an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated.
  • Ensures the department is merchandised per plan and delivers daily conditions that meet the company’s expectations for product availability, freshness, quality, and value.
  • Trains department associates on freshness, product rotation, inventory levels, stocking, and maintaining POG integrity.
  • Offers customers assistance in finding or suggesting products.
  • Promotes trust and respect among associates by collaborating and promoting teamwork.
  • Establishes goals for merchandising, sales, and profits and empowers the team to meet or exceed these goals.
  • Develops adequate scheduling to manage customer volume throughout hours of operation.
  • Ensures targets are met for department sales and shrink results.
  • Completes daily and weekly administrative tasks including emails, online training, scheduling, and pricing changes.
  • Maintains an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and reports any discrepancies.
  • Ensures company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity are maintained.
  • Executes all product recalls and withdrawals in a timely manner.
  • Reinforces safety programs by complying with safety procedures and inspecting unsafe conditions.
