The position focuses on creating an outstanding customer experience by implementing the Customer 1st strategy and encouraging associates to deliver excellent customer service. The role involves establishing and maintaining a safe and clean environment that encourages customer return visits. The individual will be responsible for achieving sales and profit goals for the department while monitoring and controlling quality assurance standards and expenses. The position requires directing and supervising all functions, duties, and activities within the department, while demonstrating the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

  • Inform customers of dairy specials and promotions.
  • Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results.
  • Understand the store's layout and locate products effectively.
  • Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management.
  • Prepare and submit seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor.
  • Implement the period promotional plan for the department.
  • Assist store management in preparing the store/department budget and profit/loss reviews.
  • Schedule daily, weekly, and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs.
  • Plan and organize the inventory process and maintain awareness of discrepancies.
  • Train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering.
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and logs are kept.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and inspecting equipment.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents and report safety risks or illegal activities.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
  • High school education or equivalent preferred.
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Dairy experience preferred.
  • Retail experience preferred.
  • Ability to speak a second language (verbal, reading, and/or writing).
