About The Position

The position focuses on creating an outstanding customer experience by embracing the Customer 1st strategy and encouraging associates to deliver excellent customer service. The role involves establishing and maintaining a safe and clean environment that encourages customer return, achieving sales and profit goals, and monitoring quality assurance standards and expenses. The individual will direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the department while demonstrating the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 or older.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).

Nice To Haves

  • High school education or equivalent preferred.
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Dairy experience.
  • Retail experience.
  • Second language (verbal, reading and/or writing).

  • Establish performance goals for the department and empower associates to meet or exceed them.
  • Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume.
  • Train and develop associates on job performance.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and food safety regulations.
  • Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and appreciated.
  • Offer product samples to customers.
  • Develop and implement a department business plan.
  • Understand the store's layout and locate products.
  • Create and execute sales promotions.
  • Prepare and submit seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor.
  • Assist in preparing the store/department budget and profit and loss reviews.
  • Schedule price changes and update shelf tags.
  • Plan and organize the inventory process.
  • Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained.
  • Reinforce safety programs and comply with safety procedures.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
  • Report safety risks or illegal activities.
