The Dairy/Deli Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Dairy/Deli department, including scheduling, training employees, managing budgets to maintain high-profit margins, ensuring product quality and quantity through accurate ordering and stock rotation, maintaining displays and cleanliness, and ensuring price integrity. This role also encompasses significant supervisory duties, such as employee management, performance appraisal, and conflict resolution. A key aspect of the position is providing extraordinary customer service, characterized by a positive 'can-do' attitude, respect for others, and adaptability.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED required
At least one year of experience in the Dairy/Deli or Grocery Departments is required
Love food and can create an experience that is beyond the everyday
Have a positive attitude and work well in a team environment

Responsibilities

Prepares daily schedule and directs activities of Dairy/Deli department employees
Assures in-service training for all employees and documents all training
Maintains high-profit margin by approved pre-set budgets, which entails, but is not limited to sales goals, cost of goods, expenses, price changes, and waste management (shrink)
Assures high quality and proper quantity through accurate ordering and receiving
Assures all items in the dairy box are well within their expiration date
Rotates stock to assure high quality, fresh merchandise at all times
Sets up displays and stocks shelves, coolers, counter bins, tables, freezers, containers, or trays with merchandise
Maintains and cleans shelves, bins, tables, and coolers
Assures daily price changes are done accurately & completed before store opens; maintaining price integrity at all times
Monitors pull dates on all Dairy/Deli merchandise
Examines products bought for resale or received for storage
Arranges for all equipment to be fixed and cleaned (with the approval of the Store Director.)
Manages employees in the department
Carries out supervisory responsibilities by company policies and applicable laws
