The Dairy Clerk is responsible for rotating and replenishing merchandise and ensuring the highest quality standards are met while maintaining a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service to customers and team members.
Responsibilities
- Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions.
- Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner.
- Makes an effort to learn customers' names and to address them by name whenever possible.
- Assists customers by escorting them to the products they're looking for, securing products that are out of reach, loading or unloading heavy items, and making note of customer suggestions or requests.
- Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call.
- Rotates and replenishes merchandise and ensures highest quality standards are met.
- Unloads trucks and places product in appropriate storage area.
- Faces merchandise and ensures cleanliness in the department.
- Builds end caps display and fills through the week as necessary.
- Orders product and supply that is requested by department manager.
- Ensures storage area is organized and the floor is not slippery.
- Maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress.
- Reports to work when scheduled and on time.
- Participates in the physical inventories (monthly and quarterly).
- Checks invoices against delivered product when asked.
- Assists in other areas of store as needed.
- Performs other job related duties and special projects as required.
Requirements
- Less than high school or equivalent experience.
- Six months or less of similar or related experience.
- Ability to solve practical problems with a variety of variables.
- Ability to do simple addition and subtraction.
- Must be able to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.
Benefits
- Hourly starting wage of $11.13 to $14.00 depending on experience.
