About The Position

The Dairy Clerk is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and stock of dairy and frozen cases in the store. This role involves assisting customers, ensuring product quality, and adhering to departmental guidelines while fostering a friendly and energetic atmosphere.

Requirements

• Be at least 16 years of age.
• Dependable and reliable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Mutual respect for others and a high-level code of ethics within a diverse culture.
• Positive attitude and ability to interact with customers.
• Good communication skills and ability to take direction in a team environment.
• Ability to perform repetitious activities and multi-task while staying organized.
• Ability to transfer boxes/crates weighing between 40-60 lbs. for distances up to 10 feet.
• Ability to walk up to 5 miles in an 8-hour shift.
• Ability to use a 2-step stool to access shelves.
• Ability to walk up to 3 miles in an 8-hour shift.

• Knowledge of dairy products and food safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Ensures cleanliness of dairy cases, storage area, and work area for safety.
• Stocks dairy cases, ensuring product presentation, facing, filling, and organization as per department schematics.
• Examines the rotation of all dairy products, discarding expired or spoiled items.
• Responds positively to customer inquiries and assists with purchases and product selection.
• Receives, inspects, and logs products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality.
• Monitors point of purchase signs and ensures availability of promotional materials.
• Operates equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Uses knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products.
• Maintains a high level of product knowledge and preparation.
• Regularly walks the department to ensure a clean and organized appearance.
