About The Position

ACCEL Schools is seeking energetic and reliable Daily Substitute Teachers to support Barber Preparatory Academy (Highland Park) and Inkster Preparatory Academy (Inkster). As a Daily Substitute Teacher, you play a key role in maintaining that positive culture and ensuring learning continues seamlessly when teachers are out. As a Daily Substitute Teacher, you will: Deliver prepared lesson plans and adapt as needed throughout the day. Support diverse learners through differentiated instruction. Maintain classroom structure and manage student behavior effectively. Create a positive, safe, and engaging learning environment. Follow school-approved curriculum and uphold school culture expectations. Use basic technology tools to support instruction and student engagement. Communicate and collaborate with school staff as needed. Assist with school duties and other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Hold a Michigan teaching license or meet state requirements for substitute teaching.
• Are open to feedback and thrive in a growth-focused, supportive environment.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and professionalism.
• Can supervise students across various settings (classroom, playground, cafeteria).
• Can pass state and federal background checks.

Nice To Haves

• Have a Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (preferred).
• Bring experience working with diverse student populations or urban communities (preferred).
