About The Position
Responsibilities include: Support classroom instruction and help maintain a safe, welcoming learning environment Supervise students throughout the school day (classroom, hallways, playground, cafeteria) Follow provided lesson plans and school procedures Utilize school-approved curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students Build positive relationships with students and school staff Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Eligible for or currently hold a State of Michigan Substitute Teaching License
- Minimum of 60 completed college credit hours (education or related field preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage confidential information appropriately
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with students or in an urban environment is a plus—but not required
