About The Position
Williston Central School is seeking a flexible and reliable individual to serve as a Permanent Building Substitute for the 2024-2025 school year. This position is essential for maintaining the continuity of education within the school, as the Permanent Building Substitute will be utilized to fill daily teacher or paraprofessional absences. The role guarantees work each student day from the start to the end of the school day, providing a stable and consistent presence for students and staff alike. Candidates are expected to adapt to various classroom environments and be prepared to implement lesson plans provided by the absent teacher, ensuring that students' learning experiences are uninterrupted. Prior experience as a classroom teacher or substitute teacher is required for this position, with a preference for candidates who hold a current Vermont teacher's license. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate strong classroom management skills, the ability to engage students in learning activities, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Compensation for this role is based on experience, with wages ranging from $20.11 to $21.93 per hour, in addition to benefits as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.
