About The Position

Provides support to the County Court team by assisting with courtroom onboarding materials, organizational projects, and general county court operations. This position is designed for a college student interested in gaining exposure to the criminal justice system while contributing to the efficiency and organization of the District Attorney’s Office. Handles confidential information and performs a variety of clerical and support tasks in a professional office environment. The DA Intern is a temporary position which performs a wide variety of administrative duties to support the District Attorney’s office. Duties may vary depending on assignment and division assigned, and may include, but not limited to scanning, file management, spreadsheet input, reporting, conducting research, and working on various projects as assigned. Works with confidential information.

Requirements

  • Ability to accomplish work in a timely and efficient manner; work independently and in a team.
  • Proficiency with basic Microsoft office applications, such as word, excel, outlook, and teams.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment; and personal computer, telephone, copier, fax machine.
  • Ability to follow simple oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors and fellow workers; ability to communicate effectively with same.
  • High school graduation or GED equivalent.
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment testing which includes an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR) and background check.
  • Possession of a valid Class “R” Colorado Driver’s License or the ability to obtain one within two weeks of appointment.
  • Security clearance required: will require fingerprinting and a Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) background check.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general administrative support to office staff and management
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate records in digital and physical systems
  • Collating, compiling, and creating binders or related materials and resources
  • Organize and maintain files, documents, and office supplies
  • Prepare basic reports, spreadsheets, and documents as needed
  • Support document preparation, copying, scanning, and filing tasks
  • Conduct basic research, compile and present information
  • Update documents, assist in projects and process improvements
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned by supervisors
