About The Position

The Store Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of store operations, ensuring strong customer service, achieving sales and profit objectives, and managing personnel. This role involves planning, organizing, directing, and controlling store activities while adhering to company policies and legal regulations. The Store Director plays a key role in promoting a positive work environment and maintaining high standards of store conditions and product quality.

Requirements

  • Extensive retail background with prior management experience related to retail operations.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Good leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and workplace practice policies.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Ability to manage people effectively.
  • Strong business and financial knowledge, including profit and loss statements.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting and computer software.

Responsibilities

  • Exemplifies and ensures strong customer service in all aspects of the job.
  • Responsible for total store operations and achieving sales and profit objectives.
  • Plans, organizes, directs and controls all store activities and personnel.
  • Handles customer relations and resolves complaints effectively.
  • Implements Company and Division merchandising, operating and sales initiatives.
  • Communicates Company goals, objectives, policies, and procedures to department managers and associates.
  • Conducts daily inspections of store conditions and coaches associates.
  • Responsible for compliance with established policies, wage and payroll guidelines, and employment laws.
  • Directs and participates in the training and hiring of store personnel.
  • Monitors associate job performance and makes personnel decisions.
  • Builds and maintains positive associate morale.
  • Oversees compliance with cash handling procedures and controls shrink.
  • Develops operating budgets and controls in-store operating costs.
  • Maintains accurate inventory of all merchandise, supplies, and equipment.
  • Creates and maintains positive community relations.
