The FBM Program is experiencing significant growth, and we need your expertise to deliver amazing new technologies to our customers while maintaining the technical requirements of the strategic deterrence. The D5 LE2 Missile Chief Engineer supports the design and development of the Trident II Life Extension 2 Flight System for the U.S. Navy. This technical position supports and collaborates with the FBM Chief Engineer and FBM Modernization Chief Engineer to ensure LM technical design integrity through all phases of the life cycle, balances schedule demands without sacrificing technical rigor by developing technical risk assessments and mitigation approaches to deliver required capability. The successful individual focuses on new development scope, and integration of enterprise resources (E&T analysis, technical baselines, Center of Excellence resources, Digital Transformation), to ensure development success. They support the FBM Chief Engineer's office to ensure overall technical rigor and adherence to engineering standards and processes to support the needs of the LE2 program. Engaging in architecture definition and trades, they serve as chair of the Engineering Review Board and provide technical inputs to the FBM Chief Engineer's Office for overall architecture and system performance including technical performance measurements and risk assessments. Additionally, the Chief Engineer leads the definition of technology development roadmaps and insertion including Model Based Engineering transformation, ensuring selected designs are robust and include appropriate margins to facilitate safety, performance, producibility and operational availability/supportability. They also lead special assignment projects to address and drive closure on key program technical concerns, ensuring identification of lessons-learned and corrective action are initiated and implemented to improve future and ongoing programs.
