About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) Functional Consultant to join our team. This role will be responsible for leading business process design, system configuration, and end-to-end functional implementation of D365 F&O solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep functional knowledge of finance and operations modules, strong business process understanding, and the ability to effectively interact with senior finance leaders, including CFOs, to align system capabilities with organizational goals. This role is perfect for someone who can bridge the gap between technology and finance, ensuring that D365 F&O solutions are not only implemented correctly but also aligned with financial leadership expectations and business performance goals.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Functional Consultant in Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) implementations.
  • Strong understanding of finance and accounting processes, with the ability to confidently engage in technical and process-level discussions with CFOs, controllers, and finance teams.
  • Deep functional expertise in D365 F&O Finance and Operations modules.
  • Hands-on experience in system configuration, business process mapping, and fit-gap analysis.
  • Familiarity with data migration using the D365 Data Management Framework (DMF).
  • Experience developing test scripts and supporting user acceptance testing.
  • Strong documentation skills, including creating training materials and functional design documents.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Working knowledge of D365 security roles, workflows, and cross-module dependencies.
  • Awareness of technical concepts (integrations, APIs, extensions, Power Platform, Azure services).
  • Familiarity with project delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and tools such as Azure DevOps.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA, CMA, or equivalent finance/accounting background (a plus).
  • Experience with industry-specific implementations (e.g., manufacturing, distribution, retail).
  • Knowledge of localization and regulatory requirements (e.g., tax, statutory reporting).

Responsibilities

  • Lead workshops with business stakeholders to gather requirements, document processes, and identify gaps between standard D365 functionality and business needs.
  • Configure and parameterize F&O modules, with a focus on Finance (GL, AP, AR, FA, Cash & Bank, Budgeting) and Supply Chain (Procurement, Inventory, Sales, Production, WMS).
  • Perform fit-gap analysis, prepare functional design documents, and work with technical teams to design solutions and integrations.
  • Collaborate with finance leadership, including CFOs and finance teams, to ensure accounting processes (financial reporting, compliance, audit requirements, reconciliations, and consolidations) are accurately mapped into D365 F&O.
  • Support data migration activities using the Data Management Framework (DMF), ensuring accuracy and completeness of master and transactional data.
  • Develop test cases, lead unit and UAT testing, and ensure timely resolution of defects.
  • Deliver end-user training sessions and create user-friendly documentation to support adoption.
  • Provide input on change management and process improvement initiatives to facilitate smooth transition.
  • Partner with developers to validate technical designs, integrations, extensions, and customizations.
  • Ensure security roles, workflows, and compliance requirements are properly configured and documented.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and issues effectively with project stakeholders, including executive leadership.
