The D365 CE Architect – Field Service is the IT domain leader for the Filed Service aspects of our Microsoft D365 / Customer Experience global program. The primary responsibility of this role is the evaluation of our business requirements and the development of solutions and services to meet those needs. A fundamental part of this role is to govern the design of standard processes, data and systems associated with our Field Service domain, ensuring that Barry-Wehmiller applies industry standard best practices in the delivery of secure, robust, effective, and scalable solutions. The Architect’s role is highly collaborative, leading the systems design for their domain, working closely with Solutions Analysts and the other domain Architects to develop and implement the future business systems at BW. The role is a fundamental part of the company’s new ERP Center of Excellence (CoE) group.

  • Lead the IT CE Field Service domain.
  • Analyze, research, plan, and design for the CEFS domain ensuring that business needs are met.
  • Coordinate within the broader group of Architects to ensure an integrated, coherent approach to the whole systems design.
  • Conduct research on new and emerging CEFS technologies or technologies that can be leveraged through existing Microsoft Dynamics investments.
  • Govern the design standards for the domain ensuring that we reuse standard systems setup and processes.
  • Evaluate requests for modification working closely with Solutions Analysts and business leaders to approve, modify or reject changes.
  • Collaborate closely with external partners to optimize the technical landscape.
  • Ensure that design processes are established, followed, and appropriately documented.
  • Assist users in testing and adoption of process improvements.
  • Assist with corrective actions when D365 CEFS system related issues reach 'Tier 3' status.
  • Assemble appropriate documentation to support process change.
  • Originate training aids or standard operating procedures where needed.
  • Provide project support for new implementations/rollouts.
  • Support for continuous process improvements.
  • Leverage Copilot and AI to optimize field service processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science or related field.
  • Must have 6+ years direct experience leading the architecture, configuration, and development for the Field Service domain of the Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE solution in a multi-national company.
  • Strong experience in D365 Field Service and CRM.
  • Experience with eCommerce Sales / Product Configurators.
  • Experience with project based work structures.
  • Functional and Technical Integration with F&O.
  • Experience with Dual Write.
  • Experience with IIoT – Interfacing Field Service application with Smart Machines.
  • Direct experience of the full CE implementation cycle.
  • Direct experience of leveraging and integrating enterprise level systems, inclusive of CE, ERP and Business Intelligence.
  • Strong knowledge of data management, including data lineage, stewardship, segmentation, cleansing, and capture.
  • Experience in systems governance for the domain.
  • Experience of leveraging SAAS based systems to deliver value.
  • Experience with AI and Copilot technologies.
  • Certified Microsoft Dynamics 365 professionals.
  • Fluent in all Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Power BI.
  • Regular full-time position with extended days and hours as needed to meet business needs.
  • Moderate domestic and occasional international travel required.
