Discover more at Lam Benefits Job Descriptions: C Shift: 6pm - 6am ET Essential Function: Support Crystal Growing R&D and Process Engineering in effective collection, manipulation and analysis of data required to establish performance standards for equipment and processes. Serve as technical resource for department during assigned shift. Grow crystals as part of a quality production group and verify the product meets all customer requirements. This position requires the use of effective technical mathematics and measurement tools in the performance of tasks. This position is a significant component of the company Quality System.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED
  • At least 6 years of relevant work experience (minimum 1 year prior leadership or 1 year Silfex Crystal Growing experience preferred)
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • Ability to assess drawings, and specifications for assembling parts and inspect for proper fit
  • Ability to communicate effectively with contractors, vendors, or employees of the organization
  • Ability to calculate amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Must be able to obtain sufficient task success to establish credibility with management and employees
  • Must be able to work effectively individually and in a team environment
  • Must be able to pay close attention to details
  • Must be able to perform successfully under minimum supervision

Responsibilities

  • Assists Crystal Growing Engineer in compiling data and other information and summarizing activities
  • Supports Crystal Growing R&D and Process Engineering in effective collection, manipulation and analysis of data required to establish performance standards for equipment and processes
  • Read and interpret assembly drawings and work instructions to determine proper procedure for growing crystals
  • Responsible for all technical issues during shift
  • Encourage good attendance and motivate employees through leading by example and providing constructive feedback
  • Serve as lead trainer for shift
  • Apply knowledge of specification criteria in performing crystal growing functions
  • Operate crystal puller to required specifications
  • Inspect each finished part for defects
  • Enter quality data into ERP system
  • Complete associated paperwork timely and accurately
  • Ensure cleanliness and order of growing stations
  • Perform cleaning tasks at required intervals
  • Ensure equipment is in proper working order
  • Perform minor maintenance and preventative maintenance on department equipment
  • Process silicon for remelting
  • Create, revise and maintain recipes
  • Troubleshoot using knowledge and tools
  • Operate aerial/mobile lifts
  • Operate overhead crane to move cast ingots and hotzone tools and parts
  • Follow all company safety policies and report any unsafe conditions to Manufacturing Manager, EHS Manager, and/ or Director of Manufacturing
  • Assist in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S
  • Perform tasks/duties related to special projects or assignments
  • Perform other duties as assigned by department management

  • Maintain organization and cleanliness, housekeeping and 5S within work area.
  • Maintain these areas at the highest degree possible while responsibly escalating any maintenance issues.
