About The Position

Performs non-gynecological specimen preparatory procedures following strict regulatory guidelines and microscopically screens non-gyn slides using cytomorphologic criteria. Travels between medical centers to provide real time (on site) specimen adequacy to physicians in Radiology, Surgery, and outpatient settings during FNA, Navigational Bronchoscopies, EUS and EBUS procedures. Maintains QC and statistical information, establishes and maintains effective working relationships and maintains established departmental and professional competencies.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Cytotechnology or related field.
• One year Post Baccalaureate Cytology Program.
• ASCP or equivalent, certified or eligible required.
• Certification must be achieved within 9 months after hire date.
• Effective communication skills are required.

Nice To Haves

• 2 years cytology experience preferred.
