Examine and interpret gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens accurately and efficiently, following established laboratory procedures. Issue final diagnoses for negative GYN cytology cases; submit all non-GYN results for pathologist review and final report release. Verify specimen acceptability and patient identification throughout all processing stages. Maintain quality control (QC), proficiency testing, and CLIA/DHMH compliance documentation in a timely and organized manner. Assist with fine needle aspiration (FNA) procedures—prepare and stain slides for evaluation. Accurately input test requests and results into Cerner while maintaining confidentiality and data integrity. Proactively expand your technical knowledge and participate in continuing education. Communicate effectively and courteously with pathologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, contributing to a collaborative lab culture.
