Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Cytopathologist to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health. Opportunity Details: Sign-out of general anatomic pathology cases, including surgical pathology and both GYN and non-Gyn Cytology. Supervise cytotechnologists and ensure quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) compliance for Cytology. Maintain cytology statistics, SOP manuals, and regulatory compliance for all inspecting agencies. Participate in Cytology proficiency testing and reporting. Intra-operative consultations. Perform ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration (FNA) biopsies of palpable and non-palpable lesions in outpatient and inpatient settings. Conduct rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) for specimen adequacy and preliminary interpretation. Provide ongoing education to fellows, residents, medical students, and laboratory personnel in cytopathology and FNA technique. Review of abnormal Hematology slides. Participation in interdisciplinary conferences, including tumor boards and specialty-specific meetings. Performance and sign-out of postmortem examinations. Participation in departmental quality assurance activities. Teaching of medical students and clinical residents. Providing consultative input to referring physicians regarding lab findings. Occasional night or weekend coverage for frozen sections may be required.
