About The Position
As a Cytology Prep Technician, you will play a crucial role in the preparation of cytology slides from both Gynecologic and Non-Gynecologic specimens, which are essential for microscopic examination and diagnosis by Cytopathologists and Pathologists. This position is integral to the laboratory's operations, ensuring that specimens are handled with the utmost care and precision. You will be responsible for performing a variety of pre-analytical procedures, which include labeling specimens, preparing aliquots, processing samples, and ensuring proper laboratory waste disposal. Additionally, you will be tasked with the decontamination of laboratory areas to maintain a safe and sterile environment for all laboratory activities. Your work will directly contribute to the health and wellbeing of the community, as you will be part of a dedicated team of healthcare professionals committed to delivering quality results. The Cytology Prep Technician position requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under pressure, as you will be processing a significant volume of slides within a standard 8-hour shift. This role is not only about technical skills but also about being part of a supportive team that values quality and patient care. You will work Monday through Friday, from 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM, in a full-time capacity that is eligible for benefits.
