The CYS Assistant Director NF-04 position at the Department of Defense Child & Youth Services involves assisting in the operation of a large Child Development Center. Assist the supervisor in the operation of the CYS program according to applicable regulations and standards.
Provide oversight and accountability for staff performance and the safety of children and youth.
Supervise and evaluate employees based on established performance standards.
Assist in developing and managing the program budget, including conducting analyses of budget variances.
Collaborate with other CYS Managers to ensure seamless service and continuity of quality options for children and youth.
Participate in the CYS Program Plan Team to develop strategies for program improvement.

Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
Successful completion of an undergraduate degree with at least 24 semester hours in fields related to child development or education.
12 months of experience in a similar role, managing early childhood programs including budgeting and personnel management.
Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas to various audiences.

Experience in facility management and supply management.
Knowledge of curriculum oversight and program development.

Recruitment bonus of $500 payable at the time of recruitment.
Retention bonus of $1000 payable quarterly over 12 months.
