About The Position

Responsible for teaching swimming lessons to all ages (instruct & monitor); Responsible for lifeguarding during swim classes, pool parties and/or public swim times. Implement YMCA practices that ensures the safety and quality of all swimming lessons, assuring program quality by assisting in evaluating all participants; Must be able to make quick decisions and be assertive in enforcing rules & regulations. Ability to maintain level of physical and mental readiness; ability to communicate verbally to large and small groups of members effectively

Requirements

• Minimum age-16
• Ability to maintain level of physical and mental readiness
• must demonstrate water safety skills in accordance with YMCA standards at all times
• Must pass criminal background clearance, drug test, health screening, TB test
• YMCA Swim Instructor or Water Safety Instructor (WSI) AND Lifeguarding with CPR / AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid or equivalent
• Must have both certifications completed by June 2025

Nice To Haves

• Recommended 1-3 years of experience teaching swimming and/or lifeguarding
