As a Field Service Engineer - Cymer at ASML, you will be part of a team responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining Cymer laser equipment at customer sites. Your role is crucial in ensuring that these advanced systems operate effectively, contributing to the innovation in microchip technology. You will work closely with customers and field support to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues, while also providing training and support to customer staff.

  • Analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot Cymer equipment problems via telephone or at customer site.
  • Perform installation, repair, retrofits, upgrades, and preventive maintenance on Cymer equipment installed at customer sites.
  • Maintain an assigned installation equipment base, providing primary support and ensuring regular communication with the customer.
  • Conduct customer support meetings and forecast service needs.
  • Provide service education to customer's service and operations staff.
  • Ensure availability of parts and tools for service requirements.
  • Complete service, expense reports, and other administrative responsibilities in accordance with Cymer's procedures.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience is required.
  • 2-4 years of technical experience working with electronics is required.
  • Ability to apply advanced knowledge of installation, maintenance/repair, and troubleshooting at both the module and system level.
  • Experience using software packages: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, electronic e-mail systems, and LabView.
  • Oral and written English language skills required.
  • Must meet customer site access requirements such as background checks and safety training.
  • Cymer laser experience is highly preferred.
  • Ability to read and analyze opto-mechanical and electronic schematics.
  • Strong customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • Proven ability to perform effectively in a demanding environment with changing workloads.
  • Experience leading installations or contributing to successful installations at multiple sites.
