It is a mission-driven company with a culture of urgency, accountability, and transparency. General Matter is seeking a Cylinder Logistics Technician to join its Operations team. This role works closely with the Operations Project Manager and collaborates with the procedures/training, engineering, and procurement departments from pre-construction through start of production. The Cylinder Logistics Technician is responsible for supporting and improving cylinder logistics processes, including developing and reviewing standard operating procedures (SOPs), training materials, and task sheets. Key activities include cylinder movement, receiving, periodic inspections, yard maintenance, repair and maintenance activities (non-system breach), and sampling.

  • Experience with cylinder handling or inspections preferred

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate heavy equipment to move cylinders and relocate saddles within the yard
  • Receive cylinders, performing inspections per formal checklists and weighing upon delivery
  • Conduct periodic cylinder inspections (required every 4 years)
  • Maintain cylinder storage yard, including signage, fencing, lighting, pest control, routine inspections, and storm drain cleaning
  • Perform cylinder repair and maintenance such as nametag refurbishment, skirt cleaning, port cap replacement, and valve packing gland replacement (no system breach activities)
  • Support subcontractors performing non‑destructive assay (NDA) or wall‑thickness checks
  • Provide technical input for the development and review of SOPs and training materials
  • Perform additional assignments as directed by management
  • Follow all Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to maintain a safe, compliant work environment
  • Maintain knowledge of company values and strategic plan
