About The Position

The Cylinder Dock Worker is responsible for loading/unloading, filling, cleaning and performing repairs on cylinders of various sizes and tanks, as well as other duties around the plant. MFA Oil Company is an Equal Opportunity/Drug-Free Employer.

Requirements

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to meet company requirements including successful pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check
  • Ability to exchange accurate information with MFA Oil customers and co-workers in English
  • Must exhibit a high level of responsibility, integrity, dependability and stability
  • Willingness and ability to become propane certified as determined by the state that is serviced
  • Ability to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
  • Physical ability to move and position self to move and retrieve products and supplies form shelves, under counters, or stacks of inventory or tanks/cylinders weighing up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to visually observe and inspect items and work environment for regular job responsibilities and safety
  • Vision, hearing, speech and ability to detect odors are essential
  • Willingness to work with hazardous materials
  • Willingness to comply with Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) regulations
  • Ability to consistently work in outdoor weather conditions
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or sitting) for up to eight hours per shift
  • Willingness to ascends/descends ladders up to 6 feet to handle inventory or products
  • Willingness and ability to obtain a forklift operator’s license

Responsibilities

  • Unload and inspect, repair and fill propane cylinders and reload onto delivery truck
  • Clean and paint tanks and cylinders as necessary
  • Perform cycle counts as needed.
  • Perform plant maintenance as needed
  • Maintain high level of customer service
  • Notify supervisor of inventory levels based on usage
  • Know and adhere to company and industry policies and procedures for safety and compliance
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area. Always clean when time allows
  • Follow posted work schedule and adhere to proper clocking procedures to accurately reflect hours worked
  • Maintain timely and professional communication with management, employees, vendors and customers.
  • Keep supervisor informed of any problems and/or any issues that need attention
  • All other duties as assigned
