About The Position

The Katz JCC is seeking a motivated and energetic Cycling Instructor to lead engaging and high-energy indoor cycling classes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for fitness, strong communication skills, and the ability to motivate participants of all fitness levels. This position will help develop and oversee all aspects of the Cycling classes at the Katz JCC, assisting the Group Fitness Supervisor in the coordination and supervision of all Cycling classes. The role includes ongoing promotion of the classes to ensure the maximum quality of the program.

Requirements

  • Must hold a National Cycling Instructor Certification and at least one other specialty Cycling Certification (Core Cycling, Spin, Zumba, Yoga).
  • At least 3 years experience teaching Cycling classes.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED Certified.
  • Ability to work well with others and build/promote teamwork towards a common goal.
  • Strong organizational skills, initiative, good communication skills, friendly outgoing attitude.
  • Good leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Group Fitness Supervisor in maintaining professional instruction for the Barre program.
  • Ensure high quality of instructors and maintain a professional atmosphere among all instructors.
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable atmosphere in all the Cycling studios for members and guests.
  • Report on unclean conditions, safety hazards, and malfunctioning equipment.
  • Maintain records and statistics regarding the Cycling classes to ensure rosters and class attendance are current and accurate via Mind Body CRM.
  • Assist in the creation and implementation of marketing strategies for current and new Cycling classes and special events.
  • Outreach to the community and share marketing resources.
  • Maintain required certifications for CPR, AED, and Barre Instructor certifications.
  • Attend local conferences/workshops where applicable.
  • Maintain proper relationships with public and private agencies for developing inter-agency programs.
  • Help develop new innovative Cycling classes and special events.
  • Coordinate Cycling staff meetings/trainings and development.
  • Recruit, train, and schedule new certified instructors for various Cycling classes.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with members and participants in Cycling studios.
  • Understand and administer emergency procedures (fire alarm, evacuations, injuries, etc.).
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism as JCC Fitness Staff Personnel.
  • Instruct a minimum of 3 Cycling classes per week and provide substitute instructors when needed.
  • Assist the Group Fitness Supervisor with the monthly Cycling class schedule.
