The position involves calibrating inventory accuracy of warehouse and pick line locations on which inventory flow decisions are based, ensuring efficient flow of merchandise through the distribution center with controls of inventory handling and location placement.

  • Perform random sampling quality checks after work is performed to ensure performance meets standards provided.
  • Research and analyze the root cause of errors and remove any barriers to prevent further errors.
  • Summarize results of quality checks for delivery to appropriate parties for review, processing, and reporting.
  • Count each pick line and storage location for items displayed in the cycle count work queue.
  • Verify packing, retail price, and description for items being cycle counted.
  • Research and reconcile all findings daily.
  • Troubleshoot inventory problems and report issues requiring immediate attention.
  • Adjust existing inventory data when necessary.
  • Complete all SBCC counts daily.
  • Complete all system scheduled counts, control group counts, and food counts daily.
  • Participate in quarterly cutoffs and perform counts with internal and external auditors when needed.
  • Program, troubleshoot problems with, and operate radio frequency units.
  • Meet and maintain safety, quality, and productivity standards.
  • Validate new items and enter information into the Warehouse Management System.
  • Assign master strategies and forward pick location using daily wave sheets.
  • Enter additional item description information and update item master.
  • Research and resolve PR pallets and monitor the PR system daily.
  • Identify and reassign multiple items received on the same truck with different zone identifications.
  • Produce velocity reports to identify high cube/volume items for potential pick zone movement.
  • Identify high volume items to be separated to better utilize the conveyor system.
  • Communicate with the Allocations Department on the expected flow of freight to stores.
  • Run weekly dead items reports and monitor undedicated items with zero on-hand quantities.
  • Run and monitor weekly expired food items reports and verify first-in, first-out dates.
  • Run Item Integrity reports and audits to identify and resolve inventory issues.
  • Intermediate math skills, analytical skills, and ability to recognize trends.
  • Computer skills: ability to navigate specific WMS inventory control programs and Island Pacific programs; understanding of Microsoft software such as Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge of UPC functionality and food date codes.
  • Knowledgeable of packing and shipping units; understanding of receiving process.
  • Knowledgeable of adjustment accounting such as net and absolute adjustments.
  • Knowledgeable of warehouse operations including layout and types of storage devices.
  • Ability to eliminate distractions and concentrate during the counting process.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Understanding of Inbound and Outbound processes.
  • Understanding of supply chain flow.
  • Forklift/MUOP license preferred.
  • Experience in automated retail distribution preferred.
  • Prior work experience dealing with inventory or numbers preferred.
  • Educational background with satisfactory results in math; post high school education preferred.
