About The Position

Chiron Technology Services, Inc. currently has a Cyberspace Operations Instructor: Advanced Unix career opportunity in the Pensacola, FL area. An active TS/SCI w/Polygraph Clearance is required for this position. Looking for professional instructors to deliver Cyberspace Operations (CO) training to Department of Defense personnel at the Center for Information Warfare Training (CIWT), Corry Station, Pensacola, FL. Primary Duties: Perform duties as CO Instructor for Advanced UNIX by delivering highly technical training in a military training environment consisting of lectures, labs, exercises and other delivery methods. Assist with developing CO training curriculum (lecture content, student/instructor guides, exams, exercises, simulations, etc.).

Requirements

  • All candidates must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
  • All candidates must possess the ability to incorporate/impart technical knowledge into their training delivery.
  • Bachelor’s Degree plus two (2) years of experience in Cyberspace Operations (CO). Experience in CO is defined as experience in Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO), and/or Offensive Cyberspace Operations (OCO).
  • In lieu of degree, four (4) years of experience in Cyberspace Operations (CO).
  • Experience in adult learning with emphasis on providing instruction to large classes.
  • Unless otherwise stated, applicant should have advanced-level knowledge/experience in the following areas: Standard UNIX system architecture Kernel and kernel modules User and Kernel mode components System calls and lightweight processes Command line interface (CLI) for Solaris and Linux variances File system structure (Superblock, Group Descriptor Table, Block and Data Group) Linux authentication and authorization files (passwd, shadow, and group) Linux Network File System (NFS) Samba security Apache security Enumerating UNIX OS’s Wireshark, nmap, iptables Host and network-based system security mechanisms
  • An active TS/SCI w/Polygraph Clearance is required for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • DoDD 8140.01/DoD 8570.01-M Level II certifications are desired, but not required.
  • US Military instructor certification or designation is highly desirable (e.g., teaching certificate, certified professional instructor, master training specialist, adjunct faculty certification, etc.).
  • 3-5 years of experience as a UNIX-like developer/administrator with CLI experience
  • Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Security Specialist (RHCSS), Oracle (formerly Sun) Systems Administrator, Linux+ (Linux Professional Institute) Certification (LPIC), Security+ or Network+ or similar certifications with at least 3 years work experience at stated certification level is desired

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties as CO Instructor for Advanced UNIX by delivering highly technical training in a military training environment consisting of lectures, labs, exercises and other delivery methods.
  • Assist with developing CO training curriculum (lecture content, student/instructor guides, exams, exercises, simulations, etc.).
  • Provide classroom instruction that teaches assigned students in the manner described in the course Program of Instruction.
  • Conduct practical exercises in a laboratory environment, conduct student study hall periods and provide tutoring/remedial instruction for up to twenty students per class.
  • Incorporate/impart technical knowledge into their training delivery.
  • Assess student knowledge, skills and abilities to gauge student proficiency in topic area.
  • Deliver instruction via interactive synchronous and asynchronous learning activities.
  • Review and analyze training materials and recommend changes.
