About The Position

The University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks adjunct faculty to teach on-site at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA in the School of Cybersecurity & Information Technology. Specifically, we are seeking faculty for various courses in Cybersecurity Technology, including Introduction to Linux, Ethical Hacking, Switching, Routing, and Wireless Essentials, Managing Modern Microsoft Desktops, Managing Microsoft 365 Identity, Penetration Testing and Cyber Red Teaming, Managing Security on Modern Microsoft Desktops, Threat Management and Vulnerability Assessment, and Cybersecurity Technology Capstone. Each course has specific goals and objectives aimed at equipping students with the necessary skills and knowledge in cybersecurity and information technology.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Cybersecurity or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning.
• Active and current certificate in CCNA, Linux, or CEH.
• Professional experience in Computer Networking and Security.
• Experience teaching adult learners online and in higher education is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage students through frequent interaction that motivates them to succeed.
• Guide students in active collaboration and the application of their learning in problem- and project-based learning demonstrations.
• Provide rich and regular constructive feedback, utilizing rubrics effectively for the assessment of student work.
• Demonstrate relevant and current subject-matter expertise.
• Provide feedback to your program chair on possible curricular improvements.
