Role Summary The Cybersecurity Intern plays a vital role in supporting the Third Federal’s efforts to safeguard information systems and our customer’s data against cyber threats. This internship provides practical experience in various aspects of cybersecurity, including engineering, operations, threat detection, incident analysis, and risk management, while working alongside experienced professionals in the field.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a college/university, pursuing a relevant degree program (computer science, information technology, or cybersecurity)
  • Access to reliable transportation to and from work
  • Foundational understanding of information systems and security concepts
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to work individually and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Eagerness to learn independently and adapt to new challenges

Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of all security department’s operations, processes, and systems.
  • Monitor network, system, and application activity to assist in identifying potential security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Support daily operational activities responding to associate’s requests and detected threats.
  • Support the implementation of security engineering measures to protect systems and data.
  • Participate in the analysis of security incidents and contribute to incident response activities.
  • Assist with security assessments and the development of cybersecurity policies, standard operation procedures, and leading practices.
  • Research emerging threats and help track current trends in cybersecurity.
  • Participate in security awareness training and tracking metric initiatives for associates.
