GALT Aerospace is seeking a full-time, hourly Cybersecurity Specialist to contribute to these efforts.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience in cybersecurity
  • Basic knowledge of IT, including hardware, software, and networks
  • Familiarity with NIST SP800-53, SP800-37, and SP800-171oU
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts and principles
  • Meticulous eye for detail and an ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong abilities in critical thinking, problem-solving, logic, and forensics
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) personnel security clearance
  • Strong critical and analytical thinking
  • Ability to take initiative, multi-task and work well under pressure

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in information systems, information technology, or related field
  • Cybersecurity Certifications
  • Experience with Kali Linux
  • The ability to think like a hacker in order to stay ahead of threats
  • Secret Clearance preferred
  • Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Strong oral and written communications skills

Responsibilities

  • Collect data on current security measures for risk analysis, and write systems status reports regularly
  • Monitoring systems for unusual activity, analyzing security events, and identifying potential threats
  • Responding to security incidents, containing breaches, and investigating the root cause
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and develop mitigation strategies
  • Perform security threat hunting, analysis, and response utilizing the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tool and other Department tools
  • Collaborate with other members of the IT and Security teams to develop new protocols, layers of protection, and other proactive and defensive systems for remaining ahead of cybercriminals
  • Monitor access-related activities for authorized users, and check for unregistered information changes
