About The Position

The Cybersecurity Policy Writer at SAIC is responsible for developing and advising on cybersecurity policies and procedures that align with the organization's mission and objectives. This role involves strategic planning, policy development, and coordination with various stakeholders to enhance the cybersecurity operations of the U.S. Government. The position requires strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex cybersecurity policies effectively to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with ten years of related experience or a Master's degree with eight years of experience; additional experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Cybersecurity and Policy-related roles.
  • Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence (AI) policies is required.
  • Strong knowledge of writing Cybersecurity policies and protocols is essential.
  • Experience in computer or information systems, information/cyber/network security, vulnerability analysis, or systems engineering is necessary.
  • Experience in information operation planning, mission analysis, and threat analysis is required.
  • Proven experience managing tasks and interfacing with senior government officials is needed.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships at all organizational levels is crucial.
  • Excellent written and briefing skills to communicate cybersecurity policies effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, coordinate, and provide support for developing policy and procedures related to cybersecurity.
  • Develop strategic guidance for policy implementation and review Agency and Executive Branch policies.
  • Assist leadership in integrating information related to the cybersecurity mission and policy area.
  • Perform research and analysis of national policy and provide recommendations for enhancing cybersecurity operations.
  • Participate in cyber-related strategic planning and coordination activities to support customer goals.
  • Develop cyber strategy and policy documents for U.S. Government operational execution of cybersecurity programs.
  • Create briefings and talking points for senior government leadership for internal and external events.
  • Lead projects related to cyber strategy and policy development, including work breakdown structures and timelines.
  • Contribute to public-private cyber policy development and coordination, including CONOPS and operational requirements.
  • Develop and communicate IT security policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Create IT security-related policy briefings and presentations for diverse user communities.
  • Analyze cyber, intelligence, and law enforcement policy and governance issues.
  • Monitor cybersecurity legislation and provide analysis relevant to the Department of State mission.
  • Identify gaps in cybersecurity policy and governance and recommend solutions.
  • Support policy and operational risk assessments and security testing.
  • Collaborate with a diverse professional staff to ensure security and privacy requirements are met.
