About The Position

Leidos Corporate Information Security is seeking a Cybersecurity Platform Intern to support enterprise security initiatives. This internship provides hands-on experience working in a large-scale cybersecurity environment across identity, network, and data protection domains. The selected candidate will contribute to real-world security projects focused on improving visibility, strengthening access controls, and enhancing detection capabilities. Project assignments may include identity security analytics, data protection and access governance, or network and third-party connectivity analysis. This is an opportunity to work alongside experienced cybersecurity professionals while developing practical skills in security operations, analytics, and engineering. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • US citizenship required
  • Basic understanding of networking and/or cybersecurity concepts
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
  • Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to cybersecurity tools or concepts (e.g., logging platforms, identity systems, cloud security)
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs)
  • Experience with data analysis or visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.)
  • Interest in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, or Zero Trust architecture
  • Coding experience with Python or other scripting languages

Responsibilities

  • Complete a work package assignment that helps improve the underlying cyber security for the Leidos enterprise.
  • Analyze security data from enterprise tools (e.g., log platforms, identity systems, cloud services)
  • Assist in building dashboards and reports to improve security visibility
  • Document system configurations, access controls, and security processes
  • Identify potential risks, gaps, or improvement opportunities
  • Support cross-functional teams in troubleshooting and analysis efforts
  • Present findings in clear, concise written summaries
