About The Position

Galapagos Federal Systems, LLC is seeking a Cybersecurity Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to join our team and support mission-critical operations. In this role, you will provide guidance on IT security controls to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems. You will support the integration of security requirements with system and network configurations and coordinate with configuration management stakeholders. You will support the full DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) lifecycle, including authorization, continuous monitoring, and system sustainment. Responsibilities include change management, account management, auditing, vulnerability scanning, and coordination with cybersecurity stakeholders such as SCAs and AODRs. As a cybersecurity subject matter expert, you will advise military, civilian personnel, and senior leadership, while supporting inspections and audits to ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility; must maintain TS/SCI and be willing to undergo a CI polygraph as a condition of employment
  • 10+ years of relevant DoD experience
  • 4+ years of experience supporting SAP and/or SCI environments within the last five years
  • Strong expertise in RMF, cybersecurity principles, and secure system engineering practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal awareness and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to work independently, take initiative, and proactively resolve issues and improve processes
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems (MIS), Engineering, or a related field
  • Relevant work experience and/or industry certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF) IT security controls and policies
  • DoD 8140 IASAE Level II certification (or ability to obtain within required timeframe, if applicable)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the Risk Management Framework (RMF), cyber engineering, and project management, providing guidance across cybersecurity initiatives
  • Provide informed recommendations and decision support to senior leadership to enable mission success
  • Translate complex technical and cybersecurity concepts into clear, actionable information for diverse audiences
  • Proactively identify risks and potential issues, implementing solutions to prevent operational impacts
  • Support program management activities, including coordination with stakeholders and occasional travel to government and industry sites
  • Collaborate effectively within a dynamic, cross-functional team environment to achieve mission objectives
