This is starting out as a contract position running through July 2026 with strong potential to extend longer or possibly convert to FTE. We're seeking an experienced Engineer to join our team, specializing in Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and certificate management. As a PKI and Certificate Management Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our PKI and certificate management solutions. You will work closely with our cybersecurity team to ensure the secure management of digital certificates across our organization.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in a related field, with a focus on PKI and certificate management
  • Strong understanding of security concepts and controls for networks, applications, and operating systems
  • Experience with Linux/Unix systems and command-line interfaces
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • 4+ years related work experience
  • 2+ years in Cybersecurity
  • 2+ years Information Technology Infrastructure
  • Related bachelor’s degree or additional related equivalent work experience
  • Cybersecurity Engineer Defense and Threat Operations: SSCP
  • Cybersecurity Engineer Enterprise Cybersecurity Services: SSCP
  • In alignment with Client's Cybersecurity requirements, contractors must possess a relevant cybersecurity or technical certification for this role. If a relevant certification is not possessed, the contractor will be expected to obtain a relevant certification within 6 months of hire. (Relevant certification will be defined by hiring manager)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloud-based PKI solutions, such as Digicert One, and Sectigo
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, such as Jenkins, Docker, or Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with scripting languages, such as Python
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools, such as Tableau or Splunk
  • Scripting or application development experience and desire (software development, scripting, Python, PowerShell) will be heavily considered.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage PKI solutions, including certificate authorities, registration authorities, and certificate revocation lists
  • Develop and maintain certificate management policies, procedures, and standards
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate PKI solutions with existing infrastructure and systems
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for PKI and certificate management
  • Monitor, report on, and enhance the performance of PKI solutions
  • Provide technical incident response and problem management for PKI-related issues
  • Troubleshoot and resolve certificate-related issues, including certificate issuance, renewal, and revocation
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for PKI and certificate management, including procedures, diagrams, and knowledgebase articles
