About The Position

Cybersecurity Engineer II Essential Duties & Responsibilities Conducts vulnerability scanning and penetration testing Investigates services and application security. Responsible for completing substantive assignments and projects. Problems are varied and non-routine, and resolution requires exercising judgment, analysis, advisement, creativity, and understanding broader sets of issues. May provide assistance to entry level staff. Additional Details: The Cybersecurity Engineer II is responsible for planning and implementing various technologies to support academic and research activities for the college. This position will need to work effectively as a member of a medium-sized team that is responsible for the technology operations of the college. The individual will be the primary liaison to RIT's Information Security Office. The Cybersecurity Engineer II will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the college's systems, teaching labs, and network. The position requires the ability to research technologies, troubleshoot systems, and networks for software, hardware, and security-related issues.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Investigates the security of services and applications, utilizing expertise in communications and network security, identity and access management, client-side, server-side, databases, and application development.
  • Performs the analysis, evaluation, design, testing, configuration, installation, implementation, administration, monitoring, reporting, maintenance, and support of complicated enterprise security solutions and frameworks.
  • Leads operational aspects of security incident response, troubleshooting, support, and root cause analysis.
  • Collaborates to develop strategic technical security direction for the college.
  • Supports the college's academic mission through client administration, server and data storage administration, and network administration.
  • Supports the college's research mission by advising faculty researchers on equipment purchases, research project technology needs and support, and RIT policy compliance.
